I love This Capture the Color Book by Lynne McGee!! She is an Amazing Zentangle Inspired Artist. One thing I love about this book is you can expect the unexpected. One minute you are looking at a tangle and then next minute you could be looking at some flowers or a house.
This book measures 9″ inches x 6″ inches and is the perfect size for any purse or bag. I have taken this book with me to many appointments and it has kept me busy while waiting. Just throw some Coloring Pencils or Gel Pens in your purse also and you are good to go!!
There are 50 images in here for you to color and that is a lot!! Most books have a lot less. I actually own a few pocket edition books and they have nowhere near this many pages. I love how Lynne signs each and every page so when you are done you have your own colored and signed copy of her work.
These images are printed on one side of the page leaving the back side blank which I love!! These pages are not perforated but they will be easy enough to get out. All you have to do is push the book open as far as possible and score along the binding and the page should come right out.
This is lightweight paper so ALWAYS remember to put a couple sheets of paper under the page you are working on to protect the next image. My Gel Pens didn’t bleed through but being that it is lightweight paper I can only surmise that the wetter the ink the more apt it will be to bleed through.
I love this book and it will go to many more appointments with me. It is a great book for any Colorist. There is nothing too intricate in here that even a beginner can do. I was lucky enough to receive Capture the Color in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.

I love this Fanciful Fashions Book!!! I have several books by Marjorie Sarnot. This is the second edition of this book and it has 49 images in it. It has 34 of the original images plus 15 brand new ones!!
This is a fashion themed book and has a lot of semi intricate and intricate collages of clothes, shoes, hats and such. She has taken fashion to a whole new level. Her artwork is impeccable and captivating.
Each collage on the page follows a theme. Some of the themes you just have to figure out what they are. It may be the type of shirt, hat, shoe, or it could be that fact that they are purses, shoes, bows or even maybe the design. It’s an amazing book either way.
Pampered Pet Theme
I love how some of the borders are more than just plain black lines. She loves to create unique and embellished designs. Not only in the scenery but in the page as a whole. She really gives me something to look forward to when I see that a new book is out.
This is not a Creative Haven book but a Sky Horse Publishing book. This is a great book for all Colorist!! I have several other books by Marjorie Sarnat. Cats (Creative Haven), Dazzling Dogs (Creative Haven), Owls (Creative Haven), Pampered Pets, (Sky Horse Publishing) and I am anxiously waiting for Fanciful Foxes (Creative Haven).
These images are printed on bright white paper and they are single sided, leaving the back blank. This is some good medium weight paper. These pages are perforated. My brand of Gel Pens didn’t bleed through but I will say that I ALWAYS put paper or card stock under the image I am working on.
I won’t risk ruining the next image. I think the more wet the medium is the more likely it will be to bleed through. This really is a must have book for anyone who likes Marjorie Sarnats books. I know I personally can’t wait to start coloring the next amazing image. This really is an awesome book and I was fortune enough to receive Fanciful Fashions in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
My Color Companion by Maria Wedel is an amazing book to have to keep track of all your different mediums. I have just touched the surface on what I plan to log into this book. Sometimes I get so frustrated because I have put down the wrong color and they just don’t coordinate.
With this Coloring Companion I can log all my Coloring Pencils, Gel Pens, and Markers and know exactly what that color looks like before I lay it to my image. If the Pencils or Markers are numbered they can be logged by numbers or by colors. They choice is yours.
There are 30 templates and each template is repeated 4 times. That is 120 templates!!! This is perfect for Colored Pencils, Gel Pens, Markers, Fine Liners or anything you color with.
These pages are not perforated but if you really want to get one out just score it along the binding and pull it out there. Since there are so many pages you may have issues with getting the book to lay flat on each page but all you need to do is open the book and bend it in half. I literally open it opposite of what it is supposed it to and put it on my table and applied a little pressure and then it stayed open.
I used my Raffine Colored Pencils and Touch Five alcohol based markers. This is light weight paper and my Touch Five Markers did bleed through. Make sure to use a piece cardstock under the template you are working on with any really wet medium. Also know the next index might be ruined.
I love this book and am so happy I was lucky enough to review it. I received My Color Companion in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review. I have added the Youtube Video of my review and the link the the Pocket Version of this book so you can have it on the go too!! Mine is invaluable!!

The Master of Fashion Illustration is an Amazing that is full of some Amazing work. It is a Fashion based book that shows the work of 5 Artists that are teeming with life, even today. She honors these Artists by hand drawing these images in their likeness. The Artists are George Wolfe Plank, George Barbier, Helen Dryden, Frank Leyendecker and Erte.
The images are from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco area which range from 1890 to 1930. The oldest date in the book is 1911. They are Delicate, Timeless and have a very Classic feel. I love images like these. Wendy usually does Mandalas so this is a “Out of the Box” experience for her but she has really done a beautiful job at it.
This book is 11″ x 8.5 ” and there are 30 images in this book. They are full of carefully drawn details. This is a book that everyone can color. None of them are so intricate that even a beginner can’t do them. My motto is that you set your own limits. I am not the best colorist but there is nothing in here that I would shy away from.
All of these pages have boarders around them which is great! It gives them a definite stopping point to each image and makes them easy to get out since these pages are not perforated. This is light weight paper so make sure to always put a couple sheets of paper, card stock or heavyweight paper under the page you’re working on so you don’t ruin the next image.
This is my 4th book of Wendy’s and although I am used to her Mandalas I absolutely love it. I love intricate work!! It helps me to focus and block out all the craziness around me! I have PTSD and I suffered for so long from symptoms like anxiety until a friend told me about coloring. As soon as I started I was hooked!!
Wendy has an AMAZING talent for drawing! This book is crying out for you to put color to the images. I am so happy I got it because I can put it with my Fashion collection. I have to say that out of my Fashion Coloring Books, that this is one of my favorites. I was lucky enough to receive Masters of Fashion Illustration in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Coloring Fun Mandalas is a Really GREAT Book!! When my friend suggested I start coloring, it was Mandalas books I started in. They were large spaces and easy to do. They helped me to relieve stress and anxiety of my PTSD. They also helped me to learn how to coordinate colors. I have always held onto my passion for Mandalas and have many books!! When I came across this book I knew I had to have it!
There are 30 images in here for you to color and they are very Engaging, Exciting and Creative. They are balanced and imaginative. These circular Mandalas have fluid lines and they are just waiting for you to add color to them.
There are a lot of wide open spaces in this book with just a little intricate areas. This is a great book for EVERYONE!! I will say that some of the Mandals have some areas in the middle but there is nothing in here that a beginner can’t do. A good sharp pencil or Fine Liner will do the job.
The images are printed on one side of the page on lightweight paper. These pages are not perforated but each mandala is centered on the page so they will be easy to get out. All you need to do is score along the binding and carefully pull out the image.
Markers will leak through the pages so make sure to put a couple sheets of paper under the page you working on to prevent ruining the next picture. This book will be perfect for Colored Pencils, Gel Pens, Markers or Fine Liners.
This book really has taken me back to the beginning of my journey with Adult Coloring and shown me what I truly love about Coloring. This book is a one of a kind and I was lucky enough to receive Coloring Fun Mandalas in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Dazzling Dragon is an Amazing book by a very Talented Artist. Laurie Beauchamp has told a fantastical tale of all kinds of dragons. The cover picture is included in this book and it is 1 of the 6 images with women not including a very small sprite/fairy.
It’s a great representation of the style used on a lot of the dragons and details. There are all kinds of dragons in here. Angry scary dragons, baby dragons, dragonflies (way too cute), flower dragon, flower breathing dragons, and then there are some fairly simple skulls with dragons.
This book has a great page where you put your name saying this book belongs to you. This is a Colorable image so go for it!! Then there is a Forward where she gives a short bio, encourages you to like her page Laurie’s Art on Facebook and then Thanks the wonderful people who made this book possible.
There are 37 Fantastic Images in this book to color and my suggestion is to put down your cell phone and gather your coloring supplies because as soon as you get this book you are going to want to start coloring. All the images have a definite stopping point.
These images are printed on singles sided bright white medium weight paper. The pages are not perforated but that okay because this is a glued binding and all you have to do is break the binding and score your image all the way down as far as you can get it and it should come out easy. I used both Gel Pens and Colored Pencils. My Gel Pens did not bleed through and I even blended then which means I used 2 coats of ink on each flower.
This is a book for EVERYONE!! There are plenty of both easy and intricate images. I believe this will allow a beginner to work their way into to harder work. I also think that an Experienced Colorist will love this as sometime I don’t always want to do super intricate pages so I do more simple pages. This book also allows me to do that. I was fortunate enough to receive Dazzling Dragons in exchange my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I really love this Colors of Whimsy III book. It is just as Amazing as her other 2 books. Bev is a self taught Artist and she can do anything. She loves to draw and create characters out of polymer clay and then paint them which are amazing. Her creativity is outstanding. I found Bevs work through the Global Doodle Gems Books and fell in love.
The cover is indicative of what’s inside and is in the book. The dedication page is a little different in this book than the others as she Thanks a team and the people who colored her cover and back cover. There are a lot of beautiful women in the book but there are also flowers, flora and animals like a bird and a horse.
All the images are Amazing but I found that I really liked the 80’s inspired ones. I colored what I considered to be one and then there is another with the actual date on it. That is something I noticed about Bev. She doesn’t have a genre per say. She likes “pretty” or what she considers to be that. I find it all so Amazing!!
The book measures 11 x 8.5 and has 30 images. These images are all centered. The full size images take up the majority of the page but there is always a stopping point. These images are printed on single sided bright white lightweight paper. It is non-perforated but since there is a definite stopping point and this is a glued binding. These images are pretty easy to get out. Just break the binding at the page and open it all the way where you see the glue and score it down there. It should come out really easy.
I used Gel Pens and Marco Raffines to color my image. Neither bled through but my Gel Pens did create a shadow on the back of the page. I believe that the wetter the medium the more apt it will be to bleed through. My suggestion is to ALWAYS use a couple sheets of paper under the image you are working on to make sure you don’t ruin the next image.
This book is perfect for EVERYONE. Beginners and Experienced Colorist alike. While there are some more intricate areas I think that with a little patience anyone can do it. I am not a great Colorist but I find nothing in here intimidating. It will only require some really sharp pencils, fineliners, fine point markers or Gel Pens and some patience. I received Colors of Whimsy III in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Colors of Whimsy II is an AMAZING book by Bev Choy. She is a Brilliant Artist who is self taught and is always pushing the boundaries of what she can do. She not only draws but she also works with polymer clay and she is Awesome!! I ran across Bev’s work while coloring in a Global Doodle Gems book and fell in love with her style.
Cover is indicative of what’s inside and is in book. The very first page is a dedication page where she Thanks her Husband and Family for supporting her. While there are some women this book it also has animals like rabbits. There is even a ship in here. There is a page where you color the outside of the image and fill the inside with a saying or doodle of your choice.
The book measures 11 x 8.5 and has 35 images. Almost all of these are full page images. There are women, roses, fish, hearts, insects, butterflies, flowers, and more. I really like Mandala type image toward the front of the book. It is quite intricate but also quite lovely. There are 7 circles and each one has its own pattern. It is pure genius!!
These images are printed on single sided bright white lightweight paper. It is non perforated but these images should be pretty easy to get out. This is a glued binding so all you need to do is find the image you want out and break the binding and open it all the way where you see the glue and score it with some scissors or an exacto knife. They should come right out.
I would love to say this book is for EVERYONE but I think this book is for someone with PATIENCE and maybe more experience in coloring. While there are some really easy spots I think that a lot of this work is intricate. I am not the best Colorist but I don’t think there is anything in here I can’t do with a little patience.
I think we set our own limits when it comes to anything so if you think you can do it, then you can!! I honestly never thought I could do intricate work until I tried!! I find this book to be very enjoyable and relaxing. Doing the intricate work helps me to focus on the book instead of everything else. I received Color of Whimsy II in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Colors of Whimsy is really Awesome book by Bev Choy. She is a Brilliant self taught Artist and she is always pushing the limits of what she can do. She wants to do better and be a better Artist. She really loves to draw and create. She not only draws and doodles but she also does other things like polymer clay. I honestly don’t think there is a limit to her creativity. I found Bev’s work while coloring in the Volumes of the Global Doodle Gems Books and fell in love with her style. When I found out she had books available I knew I had to have them.
The cover is indicative of what’s inside and is the last page in book but there are a lot of women in the book. Most of it is Women and Flowers and Flora but there are also animals like a Hummingbird and Elephants. There are lots of named images and signed images. I misspoke when I said they were all signed and named. The very first page is a colorable image but also a Dedication page where she Thanks her Family for supporting her.
The book measures 11 x 8.5 and has 32 images. The majority of these are full page images but there are a couple circle images and they are all centered. The full size images take up the majority of the page but there is always a stopping point. There are women, roses, butterflies, flowers insects, cats, fish and more. I particularly love the full sized abstract image!! There is a page in the back of the book for you to test you colors on before laying them on your image.
These images are printed on single sided bright white lightweight paper. It is non perforated but since there is a definite stopping point and this is a glued binding. These images are pretty easy to get out. Just break the binding at the page and open it all the way where you see the glue and score it down there. It should come out really easy. These will be ready to frame and hang!!
I used Marco Raffines and Gel Pens to color my images. Neither bled through but my Gel Pens did create a shadow on the back of the page. I believe with a wetter medium it will bleed through. My suggestion is to ALWAYS use a couple sheets of paper under the image you are working on to make sure you don’t ruin the next image. The use of some Fineliners will be great when doing some of the intricate areas.
This book is perfect for EVERYONE. Beginners and Experienced Colorist alike. While there are some really tedious spots I think if you take Bev’s lead and believe that you create your own limits then you will be able to color this book with no problems. It will just require some really sharp pencils or fineliners and some patience. I am not a great Colorist but I was able to do this with just a little patience. I found it very enjoyable and relaxing to focus on the details instead of everything else going on around me. I received Colors of Whimsy in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I love the Global Doodle Gems books!! Volume 2 does NOT disappoint me with all the Amazing artists they have gathered to be in this book!! I color because I have PTSD and I use it to help me with the Stress and Anxiety associated with it. I really never even thought about it until a friend told me to color, well she basically insisted that I color a picture. When I noticed that while coloring I forgot all about the outside world and only about the image I was coloring, I was hooked!!
This book features 10 Artist from all over the world. This gives us a great variety and a peek into the lives and the styles of each of these Artists. I really like these books because it helps me to decide if I want to buy the Artists full books or not. I honest probably would have never known about Joseph Shivery’s books without these books. This book also features 5 completely different styles of Mandalas which I TOTALLY love!!
Ta So is from France and is an Amazing ZenArt designer. Her images reach in and pull out the peace and tranquility lying inside me. When I have colored her images from her page I really have gotten lost in pages and was able to focus solely on the images and life I was bringing to it with the colors.
I feel a Doodle Invasion coming on when I color Rosalien Hanssens images. She is from Norway and I love that she has some that are kind of in a Mandala style with the doodles inside but she definitely loves doodling!!
Joseph Shivery is from Maryland in the USA and is the Creator of the Creature from the Ink of his Broken Mind and I am the Master as I bring them to life with the colors I add. I have colored Joseph’s pictures in both other Volume and I own both his books. He not only draws creatures but he and Maria work in conjunction to creature a story for the creatures. His books are Amazing. I can attest to that fact!!
Ena Tera Art is from Granada, Spain and creates some absolutely AMAZING Mandalas!! The cover of the chapter is a little deceiving as it just shows some side art but once you get into the chapter you see full page Mandalas with art surrounding the Mandalas. I love this Chapter!! The work in this area is intricate to say the least.
Ester Lafiebre is from Canary Islands, Spain and she creates some really sweet Mandalas in Chapter 5. They all include hearts and flowers. These can be colored by anyone with very few intricate details. She signs every image in the book.
Christianne Gerstner is from the USA and all 5 of her images are flowers. I chose her image to color because I love coloring flowers!! Anyone can color these images as they are wide open spaces. I especially love the one that is paisley. She is a lover of Zentangle Art is considers hers to be inspired by it.
Mia Pelletier is from Scotland and the images that are in here are beautiful. They are just a drop in the bucket compared to some of the images she creates. She is an Amazing Artist!! You will need some patience as there is some detailed work in here that will require you attention. She signs each images in this book.
Karolina Stopyra is from Poland and I love her Mandalas!! She loves drawing, painting and photographing. She is your all around crafty woman and loves working with mixed media. Her Mandalas are a mixture between intricate and easy as there are spots that are open and then spots that are intricate. This section in going to be for the medium to experienced colorist.
Fizzy Pink is from the UK and this section is as cute as it can be. There is a really cute Mandala in this chapter with hearts and flowers as well as other doodles. I think this chapter would be great for everyone to color. From looking at her page it seems she loves what she does and her Mandalas on her page are Magnificent.
Kathy Ahrens Is from the Wisconsin, USA and is a self taught Artist. All her works is Zendoodles and Mandalas. She loves what she does. Each of these images are pretty easy. Some of them have some smaller spots but nothing so intricate that a beginner can’t try.
These images are printed on one side of the paper leaving the back of the page blank and it is medium weight paper. The pages are not perforated but they are easy enough to get out if you score them along the binding. Also if you break the binding of the book you can get it to lay flat a little better. My Gel Pens did not bleed through but they were not very wet. I always suggest to put a couple pages under the page you are working on to make sure not to ruin the next images. I think the more wet the medium is the more apt it will be to bleed through.
This really is a great book. I learned A LOT about each Artist as I went through and did this review as I make it my mission to try to find out a little about each of them. This book can be colored by everyone with the exception of the few intricate areas. Even then a beginner can start with the easiest areas and work their way up. All 10 chapters offer something different than the last and that is what makes this book PERFECT!! . I received “Global Doodle Gems” Volume 2 at a discount in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I have to start off by saying WOW!! I have always classified myself as someone who loves stuff that is “outside the box” and this book fit right in there. This book really reminds me of a Dr. Seuss type Coloring book for Adults except a little, well, almost creepier. His creatures all have names and lives. This is NOT your normal Coloring Book but this is my type of coloring book. Joe’s quirky imagination has come out in this book showing that his true love is drawing. He started developing his style in the 80’s and his talent has just grown from there. He has so much fun bringing them to life.
There are 50 images in this book for you to color and 50 stories to read. Each page is unique and begging you to add the color and read their story so they can pop off the page and truly be free! This book screams “Imagination Run Rampant!” These pages are not perforated but they are easy enough to get out. There is a definite stopping point to each image so all you have to do is score the image you want along the binding with a pair of scissors or an exacto knife and it should come out easily. I choose to keep all my images in the book though to keep the story line intact.
When working with mediums as always your pencils are safe. Some of my Gel Pens Bled through and some did not. My alcohol Markers did bleed through of course. I surmise that the more wet the medium is the apt it will be to bleed. I make sure that I always keep a couple sheets of paper under the page I’m working on. When working with Alcohol or Water Based Marker I suggest more than a couple or even card stock. It will keep you from ruining the next image. I am still able to read the next poem on the images I colored that bled.
Overall I have to say that this is an awesome book and I’m so very happy I bought it. I really think that Joseph has done a truly AMAZING job bringing these characters to life and Maria has done a great job with the poem like story line. This book was published by Global Doodle Gems and they do an Amazing job working with Artists! I bought The Broken Mind of Joe’s Ink: Life of the Creatures in Joe’s Backyard (Volume 2) on Createspace at a discount in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
If you own this book or are interested in learning more about it join the group Colouring The Broken Mind of Joe’s Ink
This Global Doodle Gems Volume 4 is AMAZING! There are 50 images in here to color. This is a collection of 10 Artist from all around the world. Each Artist has 5 pages to color but you can also color their Chapter cover which will make a 6th image making it a total of 60 images to color. Global Doodle Gems has an amazing ability to find these awesome artists. I love these books in particular because there is no set theme for it. You get a little bit of everything.
Chapter 1: Maggie Lin
She is from Taiwan and has a Zentangle feel to her pictures but there are a couple that are not just zentangle doodles but very nice scenic designs.
Chapter 2: Heather Richards
Heather is a 5th grade teacher and she is from the United States. I’m not sure if she is an Art teacher or a regular teacher but she is a Certified Zentangle Teacher. I really like Heathers Zentangle Designs. I love the fact that she also showed us it wasn’t just about the lines with her nice scenic images also.
Chapter 3: Joe Shivery
Joe is from the United States and has an imagination unlike that of any other. He has 2 books published so far and they are: The Broken Mind of Joes Ink Volume 1 and 2. He has a facebook page you can follow him at. There is a story that goes along with his creatures. It’s not just images for Joe or for those of us who follow.
Chapter 4: Gloria A Lenzen
She is from the USA I could also classify her as Zentagle but she really likes flowers which is fine by me as I love flowers. 3 of her 5 images are mainly flowers with one of them being a very beautiful scenic design.
Chapter 5: Linda McMillen
She is from the USA and all 5 of her images include insects. 3 of the 5 also include flowers. When looking at her Facebook page I see a whole new side of Linda. She is not just an Artist who likes insects but loves to draw, color and seems to just love Art all around.
Chapter 6: Yaya
Yaya is from France and creates Mandalas that have some simple but there are also some with a more intricate zentangle feel to them
Chapter 7: Kimberly Garvey
Kimberly is from the US and can be found on her own website. She is an established Artist with 11 published books. Her images are for everyone! She has 5 full page images with a zentangle feel to them.
Chapter 8: Alfred E. Villanueva
Alfred has some Amazing works of art in is section. I think this will by far be my favorite section of this book. 3 of his 5 images have faces involved. While I guess technically you can classify his work as Zentangle also it has a whole level of its own. His work is intricate is something for a steady experience hand. The other 2 images are animals. He is from the Philippines’ and can be found on Facebook.
Chapter 9: Mitchell Manuel
Mitchell is from New Zealand and all his images are simplistic Mandalas. Mitchell has 2 published books and also enjoys Fashion.
Chapter 10: Diana Homes
Diana is from the USA and loves all things Whimsical. Her 5 Images are of either birds or owls. I’m not sure exactly which they are. She is very creative and crafty. She not only loves drawing but creating things period. I really love 1 image in particular that is a Dream catcher.
This is a Great book for ANY and EVERYONE!! There are simple to intricate images. This is a great book for a beginner and experienced alike. If you are a Beginner you can get this book and start with the simplest Mandalas and work your way up to the more experience fine line images.
All these Artists bring a unique and wonderful touch to this Amazing book. All these images are printed on one side of the page on medium weight paper. My Gel Pens did not bleed through but ALWAYS make sure to put a piece of paper or 2 under the page you are working on. These pages are not perforated but they are easy to get out as long as you score them along the binding. A lot of these are PERFECT for framing!! I bought Global Doodle Gems Volume 4 on Create Space at a discount in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
This Birds of the World by Remy Is a really GREAT coloring book. It has a really nice assortment of pictures to color. There are a lot of pictures in here that are really simple to color and some are a little more complex. This is definitely something a beginner can work with. There are only in here that are intricate and in my opinion they are not anything that a beginner can’t try and do. I always say that it only takes a willingness to try and you can accomplish anything.
There are 30 different pictures to color and of course they range from scenes suck as waterscapes to landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty. I really like the ones that have the repeating patterns and I am eager to get into those. I color because it helps to calm my Anxiety. You have everything from Hummingbirds, Toucans, Peacocks and Eagles. You have Mack Trucks, Landscapes, Cityscapes, and even a Person.
The paper is light weight and your mediums will bleed through unless you are using Crayons or Coloring Pencils. My suggestion is that you always use a piece of paper behind the sheet you are coloring. I used Gel pens on my picture and forgot to put a sheet of paper behind it. It did bleed through a little but not enough as to ruin the next page. The back of the pages are black which is a MUST for me.
These pages are not perforated but if you want to remove a page all you have to do is score the page at the Bind and pull it out like that. I really like that there are a couple pages in the back to check out your colors before putting them to the page you are coloring. I really like this book a lot and can’t wait to finish my Peacock! I was lucky enough to receive this Birds of the World Coloring Book in exchange for my honest review.
Review:: 4 Stars Length:: 4:51 Mins
This is another GREAT Adult Coloring Book from Blue Star. It is a soft back book and made very well. Every Blue Star Coloring Book that I have gotten has one picture per page and this one is no different. I love that the back of the page is blank because you don’t have to worry about ruining another picture if you are using markers or gel pens. This book is for Absolutely EVERYONE!! There are very few pages in here that is crazy intricate. It only takes the willing to try to do a page like that though!
There are 54 pictures to colors and they are printed on medium weight bright white paper. The pictures are printed great and a lot of them are bordered pictured. The pictures are flowing and imaginative throughout the entire book. The pictures vary a lot between really easy to intricate. While the cover photo is not in the book there is a picture somewhat like it. The pages are not perforated but it is easy to get them out. I just use a pair of scissors and run them along the inside at the bind and then tear it out. I would LOVE it if they started perforating the pages.
There are over 20 bordered full page images and a wide variety of other pictures printed in the middle of the page such as circles, rectangles, squares, a heart and miscellaneous shapes. I used Gel Pens to color on one page and I did use a piece of paper between the sheets as it is a habit but they did NOT bleed through. I still always suggest using a sheet between the pages. You can use Crayons, Coloring Pencils, Gel Pens, Marker or Fine liners.
There are a couple of blank pages in the back for color testing. I really love this book! I received Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Patterns Volume 2 in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I really like the variety of pictures I find in this Best of Adult Coloring Books and the size. I’ve always been a little artsy. I color because I love to and sometimes I just need to relax. I find it intoxicating and sometimes I just get lost in the pages. Flipping through the pages you find a few different designs that work for me and just about anyone else. I love all the fabulous, intricate and well designed pages.
The pages range in everything from Animals, Mandela’s to Stained Glass. Whatever your mind can think of, it is here in this book and it is beautiful. In the listing this books states that the color will not bleed through the paper although I haven’t tried markers yet. I did try gel pens and you can see the pens though the paper. The paper seems to be nice and thick though. Even though I can see the colors through the page it did not bleed through at all.
I wish I could remove the pages. Also some of the designs go right into the inside of the binding so I cannot finish coloring the picture. For someone like me, this is agitating. Several pages were off colored. Not dark black but a gray-ish color. Even though I brought these details up, I still totally love this book. I’m pretty easy going and can work with just about anything… I received this Best of Adult Coloring Book in exchange for my honest review.
I really like this Complete Adult Coloring Kit. The original, limited edition, “Mindfulness” coloring book and 12 colored pencils in this Portfolio carrying case is just what I needed. My son had a school dance and the traffic gets crazy so I like to get there early to pick him up. You can see from the pictures that I took while I waited in my car, that it is very portable. It was great being able to just grab a complete portfolio size coloring book and pencils set instead of my whole bag that I usually carry. At first I was kind of stressed as to how I would color the picture I chose with just 10 colors because I didn’t want to use the brown or black. I wanted to calm down in the midst of all the crazy waiting, kids running everywhere, Friday night madness. I just picked a pencil and started coloring. I wasn’t really paying attention as to what colors I picked at first. I just wanted my attention on the coloring and not on all the madness going on around me. Coloring is not new to me. I suffer from PTSD and I use coloring a lot to get my mind distracted from the thoughts that race through my head. When I calmed down a bit and really started paying attention to the colors is when the picture started coming together for me. It kind of became a game for me to see if I could really do this without the same color touching. When I finished my picture I actually felt a sense of accomplishment because it turned out very nice after using ONLY 10 PENCILS! This set comes with a portfolio style holder and holds 12 coloring pencils that are place individually in a thick rubber band style holder. There is a removable pencil case for the plastic pencil sharpener and if you want to throw a blender pencil in there, you have plenty of room to do so. I believe what I will do is actually replace the pencil with my favorite gel pens and when I’m done with this book I can just replace it with another. It has 2 slots for coloring books. It has the one for the top opening style and then the one for the normal size coloring book. NOTE AS TO WHY I GAVE IT 4 STARS! It is an adult coloring book but it has student grade coloring pencils. I had a problem with the tips breaking and then they take forever to get another tip good enough to be able to color with again. Also, I had to push really hard to just get a decent color. If you are putting together an ADULT coloring book portfolio set, you should put better pencils in with it. Other than that I LOVE this. I was EXTREMELY fortune enough to receive this in exchange for my honest review.
