Selina has a great talent for fantasy artistry. I own several of her books and Gothic is awesome! I color to relieve stress and anxiety and I colored my images while waiting for an appointment at the VA. It was simple but oh so beautiful!!
I love Gothic! This is an AMAZING book!! Gothic Dark Fantasy has a total of 25 amazing images with witches (some with familiars) to maidens (some with lovers) but there are actually 50 pages because you get 2 of each image!! I get to choose weather I want them to be good witches or bad witches and maidens. I can even split the book in half very easily and share it with a friend!!
The images have beautiful women with gorgeous gowns, flowing hair, and showing strength. This book allows me to color a fantasy style with a sexier flirtier in style. Like I said I own several of Selina’s coloring books and each is Amazing in its own right.
These images are printed on one side of light weight paper. These pages are not perforated. If you want to get the images out it should be easy enough. All you have to do is spread the book open as far as you can and score along the binding. There is a frame around the majority of the images but there are a few that don’t.
I used Marco Raffine Coloring Pencils so I have no experience with markers in this book but I can tell you that the pencils left a bit of an outline on the back of the page. My suggestion is no matter what medium you use that you ALWAYS use a couple sheets of paper or heavy weight paper under the image that you are working on to make sure you don’t ruin the next image.
This really is an amazing book!! I enjoy just the mere fact of looking at it and just knowing that at any time I can pull it out and color in it. Selina has done an awesome job as she is a great artist. I was fortunate enough to receive Gothic Dark Fantasy in exchange for HONEST and UNBIASED review.

I love This Capture the Color Book by Lynne McGee!! She is an Amazing Zentangle Inspired Artist. One thing I love about this book is you can expect the unexpected. One minute you are looking at a tangle and then next minute you could be looking at some flowers or a house.
This book measures 9″ inches x 6″ inches and is the perfect size for any purse or bag. I have taken this book with me to many appointments and it has kept me busy while waiting. Just throw some Coloring Pencils or Gel Pens in your purse also and you are good to go!!
There are 50 images in here for you to color and that is a lot!! Most books have a lot less. I actually own a few pocket edition books and they have nowhere near this many pages. I love how Lynne signs each and every page so when you are done you have your own colored and signed copy of her work.
These images are printed on one side of the page leaving the back side blank which I love!! These pages are not perforated but they will be easy enough to get out. All you have to do is push the book open as far as possible and score along the binding and the page should come right out.
This is lightweight paper so ALWAYS remember to put a couple sheets of paper under the page you are working on to protect the next image. My Gel Pens didn’t bleed through but being that it is lightweight paper I can only surmise that the wetter the ink the more apt it will be to bleed through.
I love this book and it will go to many more appointments with me. It is a great book for any Colorist. There is nothing too intricate in here that even a beginner can do. I was lucky enough to receive Capture the Color in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.

I love this Fanciful Fashions Book!!! I have several books by Marjorie Sarnot. This is the second edition of this book and it has 49 images in it. It has 34 of the original images plus 15 brand new ones!!
This is a fashion themed book and has a lot of semi intricate and intricate collages of clothes, shoes, hats and such. She has taken fashion to a whole new level. Her artwork is impeccable and captivating.
Each collage on the page follows a theme. Some of the themes you just have to figure out what they are. It may be the type of shirt, hat, shoe, or it could be that fact that they are purses, shoes, bows or even maybe the design. It’s an amazing book either way.
Pampered Pet Theme
I love how some of the borders are more than just plain black lines. She loves to create unique and embellished designs. Not only in the scenery but in the page as a whole. She really gives me something to look forward to when I see that a new book is out.
This is not a Creative Haven book but a Sky Horse Publishing book. This is a great book for all Colorist!! I have several other books by Marjorie Sarnat. Cats (Creative Haven), Dazzling Dogs (Creative Haven), Owls (Creative Haven), Pampered Pets, (Sky Horse Publishing) and I am anxiously waiting for Fanciful Foxes (Creative Haven).
These images are printed on bright white paper and they are single sided, leaving the back blank. This is some good medium weight paper. These pages are perforated. My brand of Gel Pens didn’t bleed through but I will say that I ALWAYS put paper or card stock under the image I am working on.
I won’t risk ruining the next image. I think the more wet the medium is the more likely it will be to bleed through. This really is a must have book for anyone who likes Marjorie Sarnats books. I know I personally can’t wait to start coloring the next amazing image. This really is an awesome book and I was fortune enough to receive Fanciful Fashions in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
My Color Companion by Maria Wedel is an amazing book to have to keep track of all your different mediums. I have just touched the surface on what I plan to log into this book. Sometimes I get so frustrated because I have put down the wrong color and they just don’t coordinate.
With this Coloring Companion I can log all my Coloring Pencils, Gel Pens, and Markers and know exactly what that color looks like before I lay it to my image. If the Pencils or Markers are numbered they can be logged by numbers or by colors. They choice is yours.
There are 30 templates and each template is repeated 4 times. That is 120 templates!!! This is perfect for Colored Pencils, Gel Pens, Markers, Fine Liners or anything you color with.
These pages are not perforated but if you really want to get one out just score it along the binding and pull it out there. Since there are so many pages you may have issues with getting the book to lay flat on each page but all you need to do is open the book and bend it in half. I literally open it opposite of what it is supposed it to and put it on my table and applied a little pressure and then it stayed open.
I used my Raffine Colored Pencils and Touch Five alcohol based markers. This is light weight paper and my Touch Five Markers did bleed through. Make sure to use a piece cardstock under the template you are working on with any really wet medium. Also know the next index might be ruined.
I love this book and am so happy I was lucky enough to review it. I received My Color Companion in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review. I have added the Youtube Video of my review and the link the the Pocket Version of this book so you can have it on the go too!! Mine is invaluable!!

The Master of Fashion Illustration is an Amazing that is full of some Amazing work. It is a Fashion based book that shows the work of 5 Artists that are teeming with life, even today. She honors these Artists by hand drawing these images in their likeness. The Artists are George Wolfe Plank, George Barbier, Helen Dryden, Frank Leyendecker and Erte.
The images are from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco area which range from 1890 to 1930. The oldest date in the book is 1911. They are Delicate, Timeless and have a very Classic feel. I love images like these. Wendy usually does Mandalas so this is a “Out of the Box” experience for her but she has really done a beautiful job at it.
This book is 11″ x 8.5 ” and there are 30 images in this book. They are full of carefully drawn details. This is a book that everyone can color. None of them are so intricate that even a beginner can’t do them. My motto is that you set your own limits. I am not the best colorist but there is nothing in here that I would shy away from.
All of these pages have boarders around them which is great! It gives them a definite stopping point to each image and makes them easy to get out since these pages are not perforated. This is light weight paper so make sure to always put a couple sheets of paper, card stock or heavyweight paper under the page you’re working on so you don’t ruin the next image.
This is my 4th book of Wendy’s and although I am used to her Mandalas I absolutely love it. I love intricate work!! It helps me to focus and block out all the craziness around me! I have PTSD and I suffered for so long from symptoms like anxiety until a friend told me about coloring. As soon as I started I was hooked!!
Wendy has an AMAZING talent for drawing! This book is crying out for you to put color to the images. I am so happy I got it because I can put it with my Fashion collection. I have to say that out of my Fashion Coloring Books, that this is one of my favorites. I was lucky enough to receive Masters of Fashion Illustration in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
This Big Beautiful Coloring Book is an Amazing Find!! I love the large pages and colored backgrounds. I am a lover of all books. I have been in love with Hannah’s books for a while and when I saw this one I knew I had to have it!!
The book measures about 16″ inches x 12″ inches and it is a very big book. There are 23 images in the book that will keep you busy for a while. The pages are either outlined in color or have a colored background. Either way it is pretty awesome.
This book is full of lots of detail but there is nothing intricate about it. This is a MUST HAVE for EVERYONE!!! It is perfect for Beginners, Teens, Kids, and Experienced. You name it!! I love this book to no end and will use it to decorate a portion of my new office space.
The pages are perforated so they are super easy to get out. This is High Quality Heavy weight paper. I used Alcohol based markers and they did not bleed through although there are a couple spots where I blended heavily and those spots did come through but I always make sure to use paper under all images I work on no matter the paper quality.
Hannah Davies is fulfilling her lifelong dream by being an Artist. Not only an Award-Winning Illustrator but also a freelance textile designer also. She creates items such as greeting cards, ceramics, textiles, gift packaging, and coloring books with a variety of illustrations and patterns. She does her Illustration from her Seaside home in Wales.
Amazingly enough I still have images I need to color. I received this Big Beautiful Adult Coloring Book in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Coloring is my way to relax and unwind. When I came across this Tropical Travel Patterns Adult Coloring Book I had to check it out. I have several Blue Star Coloring Books so I knew it would be a good quality book. I have to say that I was not let down. I was so excited when I got it that I immediately opened it up and started looking for the page I was going to start off with.
There are 32 images in this book but I consider the 1st page a colorable image also. These pictures really make me think about the next vacation I want to take and all the animals and flowers I may see while I’m doing it. There are lovely beach and ocean scenes, Hibiscus flowers and more, frogs, lizards, snakes, parrots, and more animals, I have to say that I love the turtle picture and the waterfall the most!! Most of these images are nice open spaces. There are a couple that have small spaces but nothing intricate.
Most of these images are centered but there are some full page images with borders around them. There are also some full page images that take up the whole page. If you want to get these images out for the most part it will be pretty simply because all you will have to do is push the binding open as much as possible and score along the binding. With the Full page images that take up the whole page you may lose a small portion of the image but nothing crucial to the image.
These images are printed on one side of the page leaving the back side blank. This is non-perforated lightweight paper. My Gel Pens didn’t bleed through but I always put a couple sheets of paper under the page I am working on just in case. I would hate to ruin the next image. If you are using marker they will bleed through. This book would be perfect for Crayons or Colored Pencils or any medium you want but just make sure to use the paper under the image you are working on.
This is the perfect book for EVERYONE!! Beginners and Experienced Colorist alike. I don’t always want to color intricate images. So, I need books with open spaces. That makes this a great book. There are a couple images with some smaller areas but nothing so intricate that you will need fineliners.
I really love this Tropical Travel Pattern Theme because it gives me plenty of flowers, animals and ideas. It gives me lots of areas to color and helps me to image my next vacation!! I was fortunate enough to receive this in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Coloring Fun Mandalas is a Really GREAT Book!! When my friend suggested I start coloring, it was Mandalas books I started in. They were large spaces and easy to do. They helped me to relieve stress and anxiety of my PTSD. They also helped me to learn how to coordinate colors. I have always held onto my passion for Mandalas and have many books!! When I came across this book I knew I had to have it!
There are 30 images in here for you to color and they are very Engaging, Exciting and Creative. They are balanced and imaginative. These circular Mandalas have fluid lines and they are just waiting for you to add color to them.
There are a lot of wide open spaces in this book with just a little intricate areas. This is a great book for EVERYONE!! I will say that some of the Mandals have some areas in the middle but there is nothing in here that a beginner can’t do. A good sharp pencil or Fine Liner will do the job.
The images are printed on one side of the page on lightweight paper. These pages are not perforated but each mandala is centered on the page so they will be easy to get out. All you need to do is score along the binding and carefully pull out the image.
Markers will leak through the pages so make sure to put a couple sheets of paper under the page you working on to prevent ruining the next picture. This book will be perfect for Colored Pencils, Gel Pens, Markers or Fine Liners.
This book really has taken me back to the beginning of my journey with Adult Coloring and shown me what I truly love about Coloring. This book is a one of a kind and I was lucky enough to receive Coloring Fun Mandalas in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
My Color Pocket Companion by Maria Wedel is really great tool to have on hand at all times! I take coloring books to every appointment I go to because I just can’t stand to be bored when I am waiting. Sometime I get super frustrated because I have laid the wrong color and they just don’t match.
With this Pocket Companion I can put my colors in here and know exactly what they look like before I lay a color. I no longer have to worry about laying the wrong color because of this. I can put all my red, blues, greens and such together or I can put colors that look good together.
I misspoke in the video and said 14 templates when there are actually 15 templates and each one is repeated 4 times! That is a whooping 60 templates!
I used Colored Pencils but if you are going to use any kind of wet medium my suggestion is to use a few sheets of paper under the page you are working on so you don’t ruin the next one. This is light weight paper and it will bleed through.
I really do love the fact that I there is book like this now because I have a ton of different Gel Pens, Markers, and Fine Liners to fill this book!! I received My Pocket Color Companion in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Selina Fenech has done an AMAZING job with this book Fairy Companions! I have never had a Fairy book before and this one is perfect. These are Adult Fairies with most of them being women but also Men and even Family groups.
The male and Female Fairies hold each other in loving embraces. All pictures have a companion in it whether it is another female fairy, a male fairy, dragon, a gargoyle, a family, or an animal/insect.
There are 25 different designs for you to color but there are actually 50 colorable images in this book. 2 of each images is provided so you can either share with a friend/family or you can color the 2nd image a different way.
These images are printed on one side of the page with the back being left blank. This is lightweight non-perforated pages. I misspoke in the video when I said all the images were framed because they are not and a couple of them run into the binding but the majority of them have a definite stopping point.
With that being said this is a glue binding and they are not too difficult to get into the binding. I just open and bend the book back at the page I want to remove and the push open the binding. I use scissors to score as far down as I can. Once I do that they come out with no problems.
I used Colored Pencils but I have to surmise that with the paper quality with any wet medium you will want to make sure to put a couple sheets of paper under the image you are working on the protect the next. The wetter the medium the more apt it will be to bleed through.
All in All, this is an Astounding book as the Artistry is OUTSTANDING!!! Selina has some real talent and I can’t wait to start coloring her other books!! I received Fairy Companions in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Dazzling Dragon is an Amazing book by a very Talented Artist. Laurie Beauchamp has told a fantastical tale of all kinds of dragons. The cover picture is included in this book and it is 1 of the 6 images with women not including a very small sprite/fairy.
It’s a great representation of the style used on a lot of the dragons and details. There are all kinds of dragons in here. Angry scary dragons, baby dragons, dragonflies (way too cute), flower dragon, flower breathing dragons, and then there are some fairly simple skulls with dragons.
This book has a great page where you put your name saying this book belongs to you. This is a Colorable image so go for it!! Then there is a Forward where she gives a short bio, encourages you to like her page Laurie’s Art on Facebook and then Thanks the wonderful people who made this book possible.
There are 37 Fantastic Images in this book to color and my suggestion is to put down your cell phone and gather your coloring supplies because as soon as you get this book you are going to want to start coloring. All the images have a definite stopping point.
These images are printed on singles sided bright white medium weight paper. The pages are not perforated but that okay because this is a glued binding and all you have to do is break the binding and score your image all the way down as far as you can get it and it should come out easy. I used both Gel Pens and Colored Pencils. My Gel Pens did not bleed through and I even blended then which means I used 2 coats of ink on each flower.
This is a book for EVERYONE!! There are plenty of both easy and intricate images. I believe this will allow a beginner to work their way into to harder work. I also think that an Experienced Colorist will love this as sometime I don’t always want to do super intricate pages so I do more simple pages. This book also allows me to do that. I was fortunate enough to receive Dazzling Dragons in exchange my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Steampunk Ocean by Bonnita Moaby is different than many coloring books that come out today as there really is a story that lies in these pages. There is a Ship Captain whose ship is attached and sunk by a Gigantic Octopus.
He finds a house under the ocean filled with tools, mechanical parts and information on sea creatures. He sets out to create many wonderful steampunk creatures and designs and eventually finds a dive suit.
He then finds a mermaid who has been injured and rescues her. He is able to use mechanical parts to replace her tail. He also finds the octopus and it seems to have been injured when attacking and sinking his ship. Instead of seeking vengeance he uses parts to replace its injured limbs.
Because he is a great Captain and helps many injured animals the mermaid falls in love with him. In the end He and the Mermaid get married!! What a wonderful story of forgiveness and love!!
The 33 images are a lot different than any Steampunk book I’ve seen and a lot of fun to color. Some of the work is intricate but nothing at all intimidating. I have only found a couple of the many Steampunk books that I like (they are the ones with people and fashion) and to be totally honest this is my new favorite!!
These images are printed on single sided bright white non-perorated. While this paper is non-perforated these images will be really easy to get out. This is a glued binding and all you have to do is break the binding. You will be able to open the book wide enough so that you can score it down into the binding. The page should come out with ease after that.
I only used Marco Raffines but because of the paper quality I suggest that you Always use a couple sheets of paper under the image you are coloring so that you don’t ruin the next one. The wetter the medium the more apt it will be to bleed through the paper.
This is a GREAT book for EVERYONE!!! I really enjoy it and for all you Steampunk lovers out there, This is a MUST HAVE!! Each image has items that range from wide open to small. There is nothing in this book that some Sharp Colored Pencil, Fineliners, Markers or even Fine Point Gel Pens cant handle. I am not the best Colorist but I am not intimidated in the least. I received Steampunk Ocean in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I really love this Colors of Whimsy III book. It is just as Amazing as her other 2 books. Bev is a self taught Artist and she can do anything. She loves to draw and create characters out of polymer clay and then paint them which are amazing. Her creativity is outstanding. I found Bevs work through the Global Doodle Gems Books and fell in love.
The cover is indicative of what’s inside and is in the book. The dedication page is a little different in this book than the others as she Thanks a team and the people who colored her cover and back cover. There are a lot of beautiful women in the book but there are also flowers, flora and animals like a bird and a horse.
All the images are Amazing but I found that I really liked the 80’s inspired ones. I colored what I considered to be one and then there is another with the actual date on it. That is something I noticed about Bev. She doesn’t have a genre per say. She likes “pretty” or what she considers to be that. I find it all so Amazing!!
The book measures 11 x 8.5 and has 30 images. These images are all centered. The full size images take up the majority of the page but there is always a stopping point. These images are printed on single sided bright white lightweight paper. It is non-perforated but since there is a definite stopping point and this is a glued binding. These images are pretty easy to get out. Just break the binding at the page and open it all the way where you see the glue and score it down there. It should come out really easy.
I used Gel Pens and Marco Raffines to color my image. Neither bled through but my Gel Pens did create a shadow on the back of the page. I believe that the wetter the medium the more apt it will be to bleed through. My suggestion is to ALWAYS use a couple sheets of paper under the image you are working on to make sure you don’t ruin the next image.
This book is perfect for EVERYONE. Beginners and Experienced Colorist alike. While there are some more intricate areas I think that with a little patience anyone can do it. I am not a great Colorist but I find nothing in here intimidating. It will only require some really sharp pencils, fineliners, fine point markers or Gel Pens and some patience. I received Colors of Whimsy III in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Colors of Whimsy II is an AMAZING book by Bev Choy. She is a Brilliant Artist who is self taught and is always pushing the boundaries of what she can do. She not only draws but she also works with polymer clay and she is Awesome!! I ran across Bev’s work while coloring in a Global Doodle Gems book and fell in love with her style.
Cover is indicative of what’s inside and is in book. The very first page is a dedication page where she Thanks her Husband and Family for supporting her. While there are some women this book it also has animals like rabbits. There is even a ship in here. There is a page where you color the outside of the image and fill the inside with a saying or doodle of your choice.
The book measures 11 x 8.5 and has 35 images. Almost all of these are full page images. There are women, roses, fish, hearts, insects, butterflies, flowers, and more. I really like Mandala type image toward the front of the book. It is quite intricate but also quite lovely. There are 7 circles and each one has its own pattern. It is pure genius!!
These images are printed on single sided bright white lightweight paper. It is non perforated but these images should be pretty easy to get out. This is a glued binding so all you need to do is find the image you want out and break the binding and open it all the way where you see the glue and score it with some scissors or an exacto knife. They should come right out.
I would love to say this book is for EVERYONE but I think this book is for someone with PATIENCE and maybe more experience in coloring. While there are some really easy spots I think that a lot of this work is intricate. I am not the best Colorist but I don’t think there is anything in here I can’t do with a little patience.
I think we set our own limits when it comes to anything so if you think you can do it, then you can!! I honestly never thought I could do intricate work until I tried!! I find this book to be very enjoyable and relaxing. Doing the intricate work helps me to focus on the book instead of everything else. I received Color of Whimsy II in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Henna Style is a great book and I love the way it starts. I have colored a couple of Jess’s books and this is a great one. This is of course is one of the Design Original Series. I gave some of Jess’s other book to a Tween and she loves them. These make the perfect gifts!!
The cover is indicative of what you will find inside this book. I really like how she has a little forward on the front inside where she introduces herself and talks about Henna tattoos. There is a place to put your name so everyone knows that this book belongs to you. Then as you go in you will find the Be Yourself to be Creative section, The Elements of Art in Action, Get Inspired by Color, A Spectrum of Emotion on the next 2 pages and then there are 10 inspiration images and in each of these images she provides all the colors used and gives you a idea of how colors are put together.
This book is a coloring and activity book. There are 32 images in here and of the 32, 8 of these will be will be the ones that you will finish off and then color. This allows for you to nurture your creative side as well as just coloring. The images are super cute and there are several subjects that they cover all ranging from hearts, flowers, mandalas, paisleys, and more. They are open and easy to color. There are some with some small spaces but to be honest there are no intricate areas in this book.
These images are printed on bright white medium weight paper. While the images are only on one side of the page there are quote on the back of each page but these do not interfere with the image at all. The pages are perforated so they are easy to get out which makes them perfect for framing or even giving them as gifts!! My markers did bleed though so you will want to make sure to always use a couple pieces of paper under the image that you are working on to ensure that you don’t ruin the next image.
I have to admit that I just love these books!!! I color for stress and anxiety relief and sometime I just don’t feel like coloring the hard pictures. Sometimes I need something a bit easier and that when I turn to these. I received Henna Style in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I color because it helps me with Stress and Anxiety. Sometimes it takes a long time coloring to calm down but not anymore since I have found this Amazing Coloring Book with Relaxation CD. When I heard about this book Patterns, Shapes & Designs and that it comes with a Relaxation CD I knew I had to try it. I will do just about anything to help ease “the mood”.
I love all the Patterns, Shapes and Designs. There is everything from Flowers and Flora, Socks, Cities, Feathers, Bookshelves to Hamburgers and Hotdogs. I kid you not. It is all about patterns. I love the true randomness of it. I was really surprised when I saw some of this stuff but then I remembered that this was not a theme book but something new and brave!!
The CD has a very relaxing playlist. The instrumental music is very calming and helped me to relax and really get into coloring. This is a really great idea. When I am upset and I color I usually go for the intricate stuff because it helps me to focus and take my mind off what is going on around me. Well having calming music is now something I must have when upset. I think it not only helps to keep our minds from wandering back to the problem but it also helps to grow our mind.
There are 48 images in this 8 x 8 Coloring Book. This is not your standard book because it is basically a square book. This has a really sturdy cardboard cover and it serves 2 purposes. First it looks great and it helps to protect the pages but it also protects the CD.
In fact the whole outside of the coloring book is a nice thick cardboard. Once we jump in here you will see how this cardboard is so much more than just cardboard. It is a bright yellow with a Beautifully Designed Cover. It does depict what you will see inside this book.
It is a glue-bound book but pages that can be easily removed as it is not a bounded cover. I really love this style a lot compared to the standard books. It is much easier to color and maybe standard books should look at this and learn.
It has some really good medium weight paper as my Gel Pens did not bleed through. I’m sure the wetter the medium the more apt it will be to bleed though. Just make sure to always use the cardboard flap under the page you are working on to prevent ruining the next image.
This really is an Amazing Book and I was lucky enough to receive Patterns, Shapes and Designs in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Colors of Whimsy is really Awesome book by Bev Choy. She is a Brilliant self taught Artist and she is always pushing the limits of what she can do. She wants to do better and be a better Artist. She really loves to draw and create. She not only draws and doodles but she also does other things like polymer clay. I honestly don’t think there is a limit to her creativity. I found Bev’s work while coloring in the Volumes of the Global Doodle Gems Books and fell in love with her style. When I found out she had books available I knew I had to have them.
The cover is indicative of what’s inside and is the last page in book but there are a lot of women in the book. Most of it is Women and Flowers and Flora but there are also animals like a Hummingbird and Elephants. There are lots of named images and signed images. I misspoke when I said they were all signed and named. The very first page is a colorable image but also a Dedication page where she Thanks her Family for supporting her.
The book measures 11 x 8.5 and has 32 images. The majority of these are full page images but there are a couple circle images and they are all centered. The full size images take up the majority of the page but there is always a stopping point. There are women, roses, butterflies, flowers insects, cats, fish and more. I particularly love the full sized abstract image!! There is a page in the back of the book for you to test you colors on before laying them on your image.
These images are printed on single sided bright white lightweight paper. It is non perforated but since there is a definite stopping point and this is a glued binding. These images are pretty easy to get out. Just break the binding at the page and open it all the way where you see the glue and score it down there. It should come out really easy. These will be ready to frame and hang!!
I used Marco Raffines and Gel Pens to color my images. Neither bled through but my Gel Pens did create a shadow on the back of the page. I believe with a wetter medium it will bleed through. My suggestion is to ALWAYS use a couple sheets of paper under the image you are working on to make sure you don’t ruin the next image. The use of some Fineliners will be great when doing some of the intricate areas.
This book is perfect for EVERYONE. Beginners and Experienced Colorist alike. While there are some really tedious spots I think if you take Bev’s lead and believe that you create your own limits then you will be able to color this book with no problems. It will just require some really sharp pencils or fineliners and some patience. I am not a great Colorist but I was able to do this with just a little patience. I found it very enjoyable and relaxing to focus on the details instead of everything else going on around me. I received Colors of Whimsy in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Color me to Sleep is ANOTHER Amazing Book by Lacy Mucklow. She has an ability to draw me into her books and keep me coming back for more. I own all her books and if she comes out with more I plan on buying them too. I color for relief from Stress and Anxiety and I found this book to be very relaxing especially at night when I am unable to sleep. I just color until I get tired and then I go to sleep.
This is a really nice Hard Cover Book and it is 9 3/4″ inches by a little over 8.5″ inches. There is a Tablet of Contents, Introduction, Color Tips, and then we go into the Chapters. There are six chapters in this book and they are: Peaceful Environments, Cozy Comforts, Quiet Getaways, Relaxing Routines, Sleep Scenes, and Fantasies and Dreams. Each chapter has a written portion describing things you will find inside and inspiration images where she shows you her idea of colors used in each section.
The names of each chapter are pretty spot on as they do describe the types of images within the chapter. Each Chapter also has a blank page at the end of it so you can draw and color your own image. Then there is an Afterward by Alanna McGinn, who is certified sleep educator. She gives us tips for getting a good night’s sleep and also what to do when troubled by insomnia.
There are 80 images in here for you color with about 22 or 23 of them being Mandalas. I find Mandalas Very Relaxing. I do find that all these images in here are sleep and relaxation orientated. Candles, Baths, Coloring, Reading, Fireplaces, and Meditation. I particularly love the Fantasies and Dreams Section. The Dream Catchers are Amazing!!
These are printed on one side of the page and the pages are Color coded Per Chapter. The back of the pages are not white but it does not interfere with the coloring of the images. These pages are not perforated but they are super easy to get out if you wish to do so. You just have to score them along the binding. Break the binding open first. This is some really Good Quality Thick Medium Weight Paper.
My Gel Pens did great but my Water based Markers did bleed through. I always suggest that you put a couple pieces of paper under the page you are working on to protect the next image. I received Color me to Sleep in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I think Coloring Page Greeting Cards is a really Nifty Idea!! I love sending Coloring pages to my Best Friends and now that I know there is a book specific to this it makes me really happy about it. Usually I just send any coloring page or a colored Christmas page but now I can make it into a card!! It is Awesome!! These will be great for family birthdays!!
There are 32 images and the Coloring page is on one side and on the other side of the page is the TO: and FROM: and a logo. The book is 8″ x 10″ so it is a bit smaller than a normal Coloring Book. These images don’t take up the full page and they only measure about 7″ x 8.75″. The backgrounds of each image are black, grey and white. Almost all have borders but I found 2 grey and 1 white with no border and the black have none.
These are printed on lightweight non perforated pages but they are easy enough to get out. All you have to do is push the binding wide open which is also known as breaking the binding. Then score the page all the way where it is glued with the others. I was able to get my image out very easy. I did try to tear it out after breaking the binding but it tried pulling another page with it so I just scored it and it came out without problems. Then all you have to do is trim the edges.
I used Gel Pens to color my image and while they did not bleed through they did leave a shadow on the white of the TO: and FROM: section. This may be a problem if you are using anything Markers. The wetter the medium the more apt it will be to bleed through. I recommend to ALWAYS use a couple sheets of paper under the page you are working on to prevent from ruining the next image.
Cynthia has a great knack for drawing wonderful Flowers and Flora!! I was swept away by all the flowers, leaves, mushrooms and strawberries!! Don’t get me wrong! All the images are quite lovely but I really love the flowers and such!! Each image is totally different than the next even though there are a lot of flowers and flora. I thought the Acorn tree is adorable as well as the Owls in the Valentines section. Her artwork is Amazing!!
I use coloring to help with Anxiety and Stress and it is awesome that now I can do something MORE by making a Greeting Card in the meantime. This is a really great book and I think with some minor improvements it will be and even better book. As for now, I still have No Problem recommending this book. I received Coloring Page Greeting Cards in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
This is one of the very few “Ocean” themed books I have and I have to say that In an Octopus’s Garden does not disappoint!! In fact, I am a huge turtle lover and this book has more turtles than I have seen in any books. The Underwater World that is created for this book is absolutely beautiful! I color to relieve stress and anxiety from symptoms of my PTSD and this book has really helped with that. This image I colored is quite breath taking.
The 40 images in here are 100% Original designs. Mix books has done an Amazing job of putting these images together. Inside the Garden you will see Octopus, Mermaids, Turtles, Many types of Fish, Coral, Whales, Underwater Castles and more. The designs range from wide open spaces to intricate. This is perfect for an advanced or beginner but I also believe this would help the beginner to advance to more intricate work. All it takes is the willingness to try.
These images are printed on one side of medium weight paper leaving the back side blank. The pages are not perforated but they are very easy to get out. The majority of the images have nice thick black frames around them but I misspoke in my video and said they all did when in fact they do not. They all do have a definite stopping point though so they should still be easy to get out. All you have to do is score the page along the binding and it will come out.
My Gel Pens did not bleed through but you can see them through the paper but my Fine liners did bleed through. I forgot to put a piece of paper under the page I was working on and transferred some ink onto the next page. Always make sure to put a couple pieces of paper under the page you are working on. The more wet the medium is the more apt it will bleed through. This book is great for colored pencils!!
I really do think this book is Amazing and I will spend many hours deep in ink with this book. I was fortunate enough to receive In an Octopus’s Garden in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
If you are wondering where the link to the book is. You see the highlighted link above in the review? That is now were the link to all the products will be.
I love the Global Doodle Gems books!! Volume 2 does NOT disappoint me with all the Amazing artists they have gathered to be in this book!! I color because I have PTSD and I use it to help me with the Stress and Anxiety associated with it. I really never even thought about it until a friend told me to color, well she basically insisted that I color a picture. When I noticed that while coloring I forgot all about the outside world and only about the image I was coloring, I was hooked!!
This book features 10 Artist from all over the world. This gives us a great variety and a peek into the lives and the styles of each of these Artists. I really like these books because it helps me to decide if I want to buy the Artists full books or not. I honest probably would have never known about Joseph Shivery’s books without these books. This book also features 5 completely different styles of Mandalas which I TOTALLY love!!
Ta So is from France and is an Amazing ZenArt designer. Her images reach in and pull out the peace and tranquility lying inside me. When I have colored her images from her page I really have gotten lost in pages and was able to focus solely on the images and life I was bringing to it with the colors.
I feel a Doodle Invasion coming on when I color Rosalien Hanssens images. She is from Norway and I love that she has some that are kind of in a Mandala style with the doodles inside but she definitely loves doodling!!
Joseph Shivery is from Maryland in the USA and is the Creator of the Creature from the Ink of his Broken Mind and I am the Master as I bring them to life with the colors I add. I have colored Joseph’s pictures in both other Volume and I own both his books. He not only draws creatures but he and Maria work in conjunction to creature a story for the creatures. His books are Amazing. I can attest to that fact!!
Ena Tera Art is from Granada, Spain and creates some absolutely AMAZING Mandalas!! The cover of the chapter is a little deceiving as it just shows some side art but once you get into the chapter you see full page Mandalas with art surrounding the Mandalas. I love this Chapter!! The work in this area is intricate to say the least.
Ester Lafiebre is from Canary Islands, Spain and she creates some really sweet Mandalas in Chapter 5. They all include hearts and flowers. These can be colored by anyone with very few intricate details. She signs every image in the book.
Christianne Gerstner is from the USA and all 5 of her images are flowers. I chose her image to color because I love coloring flowers!! Anyone can color these images as they are wide open spaces. I especially love the one that is paisley. She is a lover of Zentangle Art is considers hers to be inspired by it.
Mia Pelletier is from Scotland and the images that are in here are beautiful. They are just a drop in the bucket compared to some of the images she creates. She is an Amazing Artist!! You will need some patience as there is some detailed work in here that will require you attention. She signs each images in this book.
Karolina Stopyra is from Poland and I love her Mandalas!! She loves drawing, painting and photographing. She is your all around crafty woman and loves working with mixed media. Her Mandalas are a mixture between intricate and easy as there are spots that are open and then spots that are intricate. This section in going to be for the medium to experienced colorist.
Fizzy Pink is from the UK and this section is as cute as it can be. There is a really cute Mandala in this chapter with hearts and flowers as well as other doodles. I think this chapter would be great for everyone to color. From looking at her page it seems she loves what she does and her Mandalas on her page are Magnificent.
Kathy Ahrens Is from the Wisconsin, USA and is a self taught Artist. All her works is Zendoodles and Mandalas. She loves what she does. Each of these images are pretty easy. Some of them have some smaller spots but nothing so intricate that a beginner can’t try.
These images are printed on one side of the paper leaving the back of the page blank and it is medium weight paper. The pages are not perforated but they are easy enough to get out if you score them along the binding. Also if you break the binding of the book you can get it to lay flat a little better. My Gel Pens did not bleed through but they were not very wet. I always suggest to put a couple pages under the page you are working on to make sure not to ruin the next images. I think the more wet the medium is the more apt it will be to bleed through.
This really is a great book. I learned A LOT about each Artist as I went through and did this review as I make it my mission to try to find out a little about each of them. This book can be colored by everyone with the exception of the few intricate areas. Even then a beginner can start with the easiest areas and work their way up. All 10 chapters offer something different than the last and that is what makes this book PERFECT!! . I received “Global Doodle Gems” Volume 2 at a discount in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
This is a really great book! Mandalas are my favorite thing to color. I color to help relieve stress and anxiety due to my PTSD. I really like the fact that this is an Animal Mandala book also. There are 30 images in here for you to color. She really has a great imagination and the way she has put these together is perfect.
The majority of these are intricate images but there are some that are pretty easy to do. These are really unique as Wendy does a great job adding her own style. I first got interested in her books when I was at Wal-Mart a saw a book that was a compilation of her books. I’m the kind of person who likes to own the whole collection and not just a compilation and so I set out and accomplish to do so with the exception of her newest book which has not been released yet.
You will find Animals like Turtles, Horses, Birds, Butterflies, Swans and more. This book is 9 1/4 x 7 1/2 and is the perfect size to take along to any appointment. I can just put it in my purse along with some pens and go. These images are printed on single sided medium weight paper. The pages are not perforated but they are easy enough to get out if you just score along the binding. The pictures are all centered so you don’t have to worry about ruining any of them when trying to get an image out.
I used Gel Pens that were quick drying so they did not bleed all the way through but you can see the ink on the back of the page. I just placed a couple sheets of paper under the picture I was working on to make sure I didn’t ruin the next image. This book is great for Colored Pencils, Gel Pens, and Fine line pens or markers. The more wet the ink the apt it will bleed. At the bottom of each page Coloring Animal Mandalas is printed but if you are framing these pictures it will easily be covered by the frame.
I really do love this book and enjoyed every minute coloring in it. Since making this video I have colored more and I will continue to. I was fortunate enough to receive this book Coloring Animal Mandalas in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review
These pages are printed doubled sided which can be a disadvantage if you use anything other than coloring pencils. Any really wet medium is going to bleed through leaving the next image ruined. Make sure to ALWAYS put a couple sheets of paper under the page you are working on to make sure you don’t ruin the next page. These pages are not perforated so if you want to remove them you will have to either break the binding which is just glued or you can score then along the binding and just remove one page at a time.
Now to the point of the image being in another book. It is not the exact image. It seems like the other book added stuff or this book took stuff out. I am not sure which. I have included a picture of both images. Also the Beaver is turned the other way here in The World of Animals. Either way, the Beaver is the same. No matter who copied who. I love this book and I will continue to get her books because I like them. I just normally color the picture I like most or sometimes I break the binding and print them onto better quality paper.
SUGGESTION: You can also buy this on Kindle so you can print them single sided on your own quality paper and have none of these worries. The choice is yours. I received World of Animals in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I have to start off by saying WOW!! I have always classified myself as someone who loves stuff that is “outside the box” and this book fit right in there. This book really reminds me of a Dr. Seuss type Coloring book for Adults except a little, well, almost creepier. His creatures all have names and lives. This is NOT your normal Coloring Book but this is my type of coloring book. Joe’s quirky imagination has come out in this book showing that his true love is drawing. He started developing his style in the 80’s and his talent has just grown from there. He has so much fun bringing them to life.
There are 50 images in this book for you to color and 50 stories to read. Each page is unique and begging you to add the color and read their story so they can pop off the page and truly be free! This book screams “Imagination Run Rampant!” These pages are not perforated but they are easy enough to get out. There is a definite stopping point to each image so all you have to do is score the image you want along the binding with a pair of scissors or an exacto knife and it should come out easily. I choose to keep all my images in the book though to keep the story line intact.
When working with mediums as always your pencils are safe. Some of my Gel Pens Bled through and some did not. My alcohol Markers did bleed through of course. I surmise that the more wet the medium is the apt it will be to bleed. I make sure that I always keep a couple sheets of paper under the page I’m working on. When working with Alcohol or Water Based Marker I suggest more than a couple or even card stock. It will keep you from ruining the next image. I am still able to read the next poem on the images I colored that bled.
Overall I have to say that this is an awesome book and I’m so very happy I bought it. I really think that Joseph has done a truly AMAZING job bringing these characters to life and Maria has done a great job with the poem like story line. This book was published by Global Doodle Gems and they do an Amazing job working with Artists! I bought The Broken Mind of Joe’s Ink: Life of the Creatures in Joe’s Backyard (Volume 2) on Createspace at a discount in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
If you own this book or are interested in learning more about it join the group Colouring The Broken Mind of Joe’s Ink
This Peaceful World by Marty Noble is Truly Amazing. It takes me into a whole new realm of imagination. It really opened me up to a lot of other cultures to color. I haven’t found any books like this before now. I have several books by Ms. Noble and these are a little more intricate than most of her work but I am NOT complaining. I love the challenge and honestly I will buy just about anything from Ms. Noble as she is just that talented.
This book has 48 images that take you into a variety of cultures from around the world. The images are from places like Italy, China, Mexico, Thailand and more. I love that there are all kinds’ woman and nature. These images cry for me to bring life to them with color. I have to say that I have just started working with skin tones and this really gives me the opportunity to grow. I love that I get to color something different than the norm when I reach for a Marty Noble book.
This book is published by Skyhorse Publishing and they did a great job putting together this book. I hope that there are more like this coming from Ms. Noble soon. Most of the books I have from Marty Noble are from Creative Haven and while I will say that no matter where she publishes, I will buy. These seem to be on a totally different level that what she does with Creative Haven. This book is printed on Higher Quality paper.
This paper quality is better than medium weight but not heavy weight. The images are printed on one side of the pages leaving the back side blank. These pages are perforated for easy removal which is perfect for all Artists! I know I love framing images I feel I did an exceptionally good job on. These images would be perfect for that!! These are all framed images which is great because I have a place to stop and it gives my work a more complete look to it. .
When it comes to mediums I learned that with this paper the more wet your medium is the more apt it will bleed. For instance, I used some new Gel Pens that are EXCEPTIONALLY wet. While they didn’t bleed through I can clearly see them through the paper. I used another set of Gel Pens that had very little to no drying time and they didn’t show through to paper. All my markers bled through. I suggest to just ALWAYS put a couple sheets of paper under the page you are working on to prevent ruining any images. I have included a work in progress. I received Peaceful World in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
This Animals and Flowers Inspired Mandala Coloring is a really awesome book!! I started coloring because a friend told me it would help me with my stress and anxiety and it surely does. This book really is a great way to unwind.
When I feel like I am about to have an anxiety attack I can just open up this book and start coloring. I have found that I actually love coloring. I don’t have to be stressed to do it anymore. This book really opens up the world of imagination for me. I have always loved animals and flowers and this book melds them perfectly.
There are 40 unique Mandala images featuring flowers and animals. Some of the animals you will find in here are Elephants, Swans, Bears, Wolfs, Lady Bugs and more. There are flowers and geometric images in here also.
There are some easy images but you will find a good bit of intricate images in here. This book is great for everyone. A beginner will do great with this because they can transition into the more intricate ones. It will just take someone with a little patience. This book is 8.5″ x 8.5″ so it is easy to just put in your purse to go.
These images are printed on one side of the page on medium weight paper. These pages are not perforated but they are easy enough to get out if you use a pair of scissors or an exacto knife and score it along the binding.
Pencils do nicely on this paper but my markers and gel pens bled through. Just always place a couple pieces of paper under the page you are working on to prevent ruining the next image. I was fortune enough to receive this Animals and Flowers Inspired Mandala Coloring Book in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
I bought this Coloring book Fashion Forward because I thought it would be a real change of pace to color a bunch of younger model type girl instead of grown up women. Minjee Kang really took me back to a place that was happy and free!! I had a really great time coloring it.
There are 28 Fashion related images included in this really cute book. You see a bunch of Girls modeling clothes and Girls on the Go. The majority of them are large eyed girls with pouty lips which I have always had an attraction to them when it comes to coloring girls or women. I honestly have just started coloring women though. What is funny is you even get some of those bored type model girls. You know the ones that never look like they are happy. It really adds a nice contrast to this book because it creates what a real Fashion world is actually like.
The feel of this book is really fun and retro!! I love the full pages of the stylish women with scenes and backgrounds. The Birthday party is a real fun image that incorporates women, lots of clothing plus a really cute background. There are several images like this one and each one is just as much fun as the last!! There are a couple collage type images that feature things like shoes and purses. I think this is a really fun and stylish look at fashion. I have to say though that my favorites are the full sized images.
These are printed on one side of white paper that is light weight. Some Gel Pens bled through and some didn’t. I suggest to ALWAYS putting a couple sheets of paper under the page you are working on. These pages are not perforated but they are easy enough to get out as long as you open the book as flat as possible and score it along the binding. Even when working with pencils you may want to put paper under your image because I know that I have to apply pressure to get the color I want and I don’t want that to leave impression on the next image. I received Fashion Forward in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Animals by Hobby Habitat is a really nice book. I love coloring animals and this book is all about it. There are a ton of animals from all species. There a bunch of full body animals and just animal heads.
There are 34 images in this book for you to color. Of those 34 images 27 of them are full body and 3 of them have designs to go along with the animal. & of them are just heads with 1 having a design around it. A lot of love and hard work went into these with plenty of detail but not all of them are really intricate. There are a few though that are crazy intricate and are going to need extra concentration.
These are printed on bright white paper on a single side. There is nothing on the back of each page. The pages are perforated but they are easy enough to get out if you just use some scissors and score them along the binding. All the images are centered so they are ready to be colored and framed. The turtle will be my next picture to color and he does have some intricate detail but it’s okay because I’m up for that task!!
I really like that when you buy a Hobby Habitat book you also get a free coloring book and downloadable link so you can print the pages again and again to color many different way!! You are basically getting 2 books for the price of 1. I very much enjoy this book and was lucky enough to receive Animals by Hobby Habitat in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
This Flower Patterns Coloring Book by Alexandra Doffing is Awesome! I have just recently started coloring flowers to try and start learning how to blend and shade. I even tried a new medium in this book. It was a truly rewarding experience. Not only are the flower images gorgeous but trying out the new medium was cool too. I color because I need to relieve stress and this book has really helped me do that.
There are 30 amazing flower or foliage type images. You will see everything from Dahlias to Succulents and Ferns to Pine Bows. There are so many Beautiful Blossoms in here. Each flower or foliage has some great details that will come to life as soon as you start to add color. There are very few intricate details in this book. I love that it can be colored by everyone.
The majority of the images are full page that go into the binding. I split them up into groups. There are 17 images that are full page that go into the binding, 6 that are full page but they don’t go into the binding and there are 6 that are pretty centered.
This is medium weight bright white paper and these pages are not perforated but they are easy enough to get out as long as you pull the binding open as much as possible and score along it with some scissors. I used Alcohol Markers to color the image you see in the video and it did seep through the paper.
I did color more after the video and taking pictures. Some Gel Pens bleed through and some don’t. The wetter the medium is the more likely it is that it will bleed. I always suggest that you just put 2 pieces of paper under the page you are working on to prevent any mishaps. Although I love that you can use any medium in this book. Anything from Crayons all the way to markers. The choice is yours. Just make sure you are having fun!
This is Alexandra’s 1st published book. She has her own website that she can be found at or you can find her on her Facebook. She very much enjoys illustrating and painting. She is also a designer and would very much love to produce her designs. She is multi-talented and just loves to create beautiful things. She loves to cook and travel also.
I am really enjoying this book as I love coloring flowers and foliage. I was fortune enough to receive Stress Relieving Flower Patterns in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review.
Color Your Own Stickers by Jess Volinski is super cute and perfect for an upcoming party or any kind of crafting project you might have! This would also be a Perfect gift for a young girl who loves to color and craft!!
There are 90 stickers in here for you to color. There is a variety of uses for these stickers. There are stickers in here that you can use to put on top of cupcakes, cookie tins, or bags of treats. On the same page are some regular flowers, hearts and stars.
There is PARTY! sticker flags that would be great to make for a party of any kind. There are 2 pages of gift tags and on these 2 pages there are a total of 15 tags. There are 2 pages of name tags with a total of 16 name tags. I especially like the last 2 pages where there are a total of 8 images for what I would say are for making cards.
With all of these stickers there are a variety of designs for you to color. I really love this book as there is also a page of stickers with images that would look especially cute on a journal or notebook. I am giving this to a very creative 12 year old for her birthday and she not only loves coloring but she loves making all kinds of stuff. I know she will love getting this!! I was fortunate enough to receive Color Your Own Stickers in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
